Relax and Sleep Formula 2 contains Calcium and Magnesium, as well as the Relax and Sleep Blend: Valerian Root Powder, Chamomile Flower Powder, Hawthorn Berry Powder, Fennel Seed Powder, Passion Flower Powder, Skullcap Leaf Powder, Hops Flower Powder, Lemon Balm Herb Powder, Oat Straw Leaf/Stem Powder, Red Clover Herb Powder, Catnip Leaf Powder, Spearmint Leaf Powder and Vanilla Bean Powder.

Relax and Sleep Formula 2 contains many of the usual ingredients found in the less effective sleep aids. For instance, Catnip can unwind cats and get them to a state of blissful relaxation; however it does not have the same abilities in humans. Chamomile Flower makes a great tea that may have some calming effects, but it lacks any heavy duty sleep inducing abilities. Fennel Seed has been traditionally used as a spice, as well as a method in alleviating stomach problems, bronchitis, chills and asthma; however it has not been shown to offer any sleep inducing abilities.

Red clover has been a “boon” for many women suffering with the symptoms of menopause. It has also been used to aid in coughs, sores, sore throats and ulcers, as well as skin problems. Here too, research has not proven Red Clover to be an effective sleep aid. While many of the herbal extracts in this formula are extremely healthful, they largely lack the ability to augment sleep.

The retailer’s website that features Relax and Sleep Formula 2 provides little real information about the product. At the time of review, no research was posted regarding the herbs contained in this formula, and no consumer testimonials were provided, which could have illustrated the product’s value. We found these omissions to be troubling for two reasons.

First, consumers greatly appreciate these peer generated reviews in order to obtain a fair assessment of the product. Secondly, we have observed that the formulas that can produce “real” results will have lengthy testimonial sections, while those that have been shown to produce nominal results will either have very scant sections or tend to omit this section completely.

Relax and Sleep Formula 2 may help users boost their overall health, however, many of the elements used in this formula have not been shown to efficiently augment sleep, with the notable exception of Hops. Many consumers actually seek out formulas that contain Hops because it has been shown to address sleeplessness by directly affecting the central nervous system. Hops has been proven to work exceptionally well when teamed with Melatonin and Cysteine Milk Peptide®.

Melatonin is hormone in the body that controls sleep; however its production can recede for a variety of reasons. Supplementation of Melatonin has been shown to revitalize the sleep cycle, thereby creating a deeper level of sleep. Cysteine Milk Peptide® boosts Glutathione production. Glutathione purges the body of stimulants such as caffeine, which can make sleeping difficult. Like Melatonin, Glutathione production can ebb, and supplementation with Cysteine Milk Peptide® has been shown to increase production and effectively promote a deep and realizing sleep.

We find it unfortunate that this product does not contain Melatonin or Cysteine Milk Peptide®. However, both of these ingredients are used in many top of the line sleep aids, in conjunction with Hops to maximize results.
