The full formulary for Sleep Support is not disclosed, however, they did disclose that it contains “Elecampane, Myristica fragrans and eleven other regular and rare authentic herbs”. We always find it troubling when a product developer fails to disclose the full formulary, because consumers have a right to access this information. Often this information can be vital to the health and safety of consumers.

Elecampane and Myristica fragrans are the two elements that the manufacturer wants us to know they use. The question we had to ask ourselves is - why? Elecampane is an herbal extract which has been used as a method to stimulate the secretory organs, as well as an antiseptic. It has not been used as a way to ease sleeplessness.
Myristica fragrans is commonly known as Nutmeg. This extract has a long history of being used as a tasty culinary spice. Nutmeg oil has been known to have a slight hallucinogenic affect. It has been used externally as a way to relieve rheumatic pain, as well as gum and tooth pain. It has also been used to treat nausea, gastroenteritis, diarrhea and indigestion. However, please note it has not been used to address insomnia or any other sleep disorders effectively.

“Tibetan medical theory”, has not been extensively researched, and very little is known about. We know many readers may be wondering what this system entails, so we will give a brief overview. The Tibetans created a system which was a hybrid of many other traditions combined with centuries of their own investigations and observations. One of the first outside systems of medicine to influence them was Ayurvedic medicine, which emerged from India.
They then integrated spiritual and psychologically aspects from Buddhist sources. They also consulted with “doctors” from China, Persia, India and Greece, in order to get new ideas on how to address health and illness. This interplay with other medical systems, and their own beliefs formed the core of Tibetan medicine. Like these other traditions it is believed that illness and health are formed by a relationship between the mind and the body, as well as their connection to the world around them.

 | Final Thoughts |

This product developer says that it uses “Tibetan medical theory” to address insomnia, but they have failed to disclose the “how” or the “why” of this process. They also failed to provide any documentation to support their supposition that this formula can actually generate results in users. The entire formula is not disclosed, which is extremely troubling, especially since there is so little information readily available regarding this system.
For them there is still hope of getting a good nights sleep, especially if they seek out products that use Melatonin to efficiently and successfully readjust the sleep cycle in order to generate a deeper sleep; Lemon Balm Extract, an amazing herbal sedative, to calm the restlessness and tenseness that can impede sleep; and Cysteine Milk Peptide® to help the body purge itself effectively of toxins, such as caffeine and other stimulants, which can effectively stop sleep.
